Nebal Alkhawaja

Nebal Al-Khawaja is from Damascus, Syria, and has been awarded the IIE Odyssey Scholarship by the  Institute of International Education. She is an 18-year-old Life Sciences student. She has been studying the Lebanese curriculum since the fourth grade, persevered, and worked hard to reach her dream of a place she aspires to since childhood. She chose the specialty of the Medical Laboratory because she loves science and everything related to the human body, how it works, what diseases are, and how bacteria can affect the body. Additionally, Nebal holds an interest in Pharmacy, motivated by a desire to understand disease treatment and alleviate pain, aiming to make a positive impact on the community. She participated in many volunteer humanitarian work, which increased her desire to help people and secure their needs. It increased her spirit of cooperation and sympathy for them to feel stability and safety. Nebal participated in decreasing illiteracy, cleaning the environment, and campaigning against early marriage, making her a conscious person with a leadership personality who supports others. Through this, she finds herself in these professions that correspond with her personality and are compatible with it, as it will positively affect society. She aims to be an effective element in bringing about positive changes and proactively safeguarding individuals from dangers, viruses, and diseases, thereby preserving and enhancing human well-being.
