Warda Sahtout
Warda Sahtout is a Humanitarian and Peace-builder, working on developing practical strategies and enhancing human rights protection. Originally from Palestine but raised in Syria, she has first-hand experience with the long-term effects of war and displacement and six years of work experience in the humanitarian field in Syria during the war. Her expertise includes working in peace and security as a project manager with a global nonprofit in New York. Before that, she was a livelihood program officer; she also provided psycho-social support activities for children and empowered women and youth entrepreneurs in Syria. While pursuing her master’s degree at Columbia University in New York, Warda worked with UNICEF in New York, researching UNICEF’s work on strengthening social cohesion in the Middle East and North Africa Region. She holds a master’s degree in International Affairs from Columbia University/ School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA), specializing in Economic and Political Development with a minor in International Conflict Resolution.
