About the Role
Jusoor’s Career Development Program is seeking a dynamic and dedicated trainer committed to enhancing career pathways for refugee youth. The Translation Trainer Consultant will be working on specific role training, providing CDP youth with the necessary skills to thrift in their career.
Primary duties and responsibilities
1. Designing a detailed training curriculum, including modules, learning objectives, materials, and activities tailored to the needs of youth/students that focus on the core responsibilities of translation professionals from Arabic-English and English-Arabic.
2. Delivering training sessions (in-person and/or online) as per the agreed schedule. that equip youth participants with the skills to accurately translate content from Arabic-English and English-Arabic, maintain intended meaning and tone, proofread and edit translations, provide cultural context, and collaborate effectively.
3. Provide guidance and support to participants to help them apply the skills learned in real-world scenarios.
4. Evaluating the effectiveness of the training through feedback and assessment tools and making necessary adjustments.
5. Preparing and submitting a final report detailing the training activities, outcomes, and recommendations.
Key Training Modules
The training program will cover the following modules:
- Translation Techniques: Methods for translating documents, texts, or audio recordings from one language to another.
- Accuracy and Consistency: Best practices for ensuring accuracy and maintaining the intended meaning and tone of the content.
- Proofreading and Editing: Strategies for proofreading and editing translated materials for quality assurance.
- Cultural Context and Adaptation: Approaches for providing cultural context and adapting content as needed for the target audience.
- Effective Collaboration: Techniques for collaborating with clients or colleagues to clarify any ambiguities.
Eligibility
Required Skills and Experience
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in training and development, specifically in the area of translation.
- Proven expertise in translation techniques, accuracy, quality assurance, cultural adaptation, and collaboration.
- Strong facilitation and communication skills.
- Experience in developing and delivering customized training programs.
- Relevant academic qualifications in translation, linguistics, or a related field.
