Ali Abd Alatif

A Syrian gender activist with experience in translation, journalism, and development work. Dedicated to improving the lives of marginalized communities through a gender lens. Since 2018, I've specialized in translating development, feminist, and gender-related content. In 2019, I began working in journalism, focusing on women and youth issues. My research journey started in 2022 and centered on feminist, gender, and development studies. I've volunteered in various youth empowerment initiatives, including launching a youth blogging program in 2018. As a UNDP Young Leader, I've advocated for gender and development issues. I facilitate gender-based violence awareness sessions. My aspirations include fostering the gender research sector in post-conflict Syria, improving media representation of gender issues, and raising gender sensitivity within NGOs.
