Anna Maria Kassis

My name is Anna Maria Kassis, and I'm from Damascus, Syria. In 2021, I was awarded the Scholar for Peace scholarship to pursue the IB Diploma at Woodstock International High School in India. I lived there for two years until my graduation in 2023. Afterward, I returned to Syria and took a gap year, during which I volunteered with various NGOs, including Caritas Syria. Through this experience, my passion for helping others grew, motivating me to delve deeper into the dynamics of power. This journey led me to Bard College Berlin, where I plan to major in Economics, Politics, and Social Thought in 2024. My goal upon graduation is to leverage the insights gained from this interdisciplinary education to assist Syrians globally through economic and political means. Beyond academics, I am a musician. In 2021, I graduated with excellence in Opera Singing and Piano Performance from the Solhi Alwadi Institute of Music.
