RobotX began as a simple yet powerful idea: to use robotics and coding as tools for education and social change. Their mission? To inspire the next generation of youth in the region to become creators, not just consumers, of technology. RobotX envisions a future where every child, regardless of their background, can explore the world of coding, AI, and robotics.
Founded by 21-year-olds Houssein Husseiny and Raph Rahal, RobotX was launched recognizing the critical role technology plays in the global job market and the vast opportunities it offers.
RobotX provides a comprehensive curriculum covering coding, AI, app and game development, robotics, and virtual reality for children aged 5 and up. Delivered by passionate educators, this blended learning academy fosters creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration, creating a nurturing environment for young tech enthusiasts.
RobotX was one of the finalist startups in Jusoor’s Startup Roadshow 4.
Startup Roadshow 4, which received co-funding from SPARK, the Islamic Development Bank, and the Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair Refugee Education Fund, featured a series of in-person hackathons held in Jordan and Lebanon, where 263 aspiring entrepreneurs from Syria, Jordan, Palestine, and Lebanon gathered at these hackathons to acquire knowledge, forge connections, and receive valuable guidance and mentorship in establishing and expanding their businesses. Following the hackathons, the top 85 teams from both countries were chosen to enter the now-accredited incubation phase of the program, where they received specialized training, 1:1 mentoring, and web and design services.
The Startup Roadshow 4 culminated in two Demo Days in Jordan and Lebanon where the top ten teams in each country pitched their businesses to a panel of judges. The first-place team received $7,000, the second-place team received $5,000, and the third-place team received $3,000.
“We benefited greatly during the incubator through guidance and mentorship,” Raph Rahal says. “Without it, we wouldn’t be where we are today.”
After Startup Roadshow concluded its activities, RobotX collaborated with Jusoor’s Career Development Program to run the Future Skills Project. Through their expertise and Jusoor’s reach with refugee youth, we provided various tech activities for young refugee youth.
